Parental Controls

YOBY gives children a playful world to explore while parents stay in control with invite-only access, area restrictions, weekly recaps and adult-supervised videochat.

Parental Controls

You’re always the captain of the pond.

YOBY gives children a world to explore, but parents stay in control of the gates, the paths and the deep water.

Every family pond starts with a parent account. You decide who enters, what your children can access and when richer interaction features are available.

Children get adventure.
Parents get visibility, settings and peace of mind.

A private family space

YOBY is not an open social network.

Your child does not enter a public square full of strangers. They enter a private family pond, created and managed by you.

Only invited family members can join.
No random users.
No public profiles for children.
No strangers appearing behind the reeds with a suspiciously shiny offer.

The pond is playful. The entrance has a gate.

What parents can control

As a parent or guardian, you can manage the core parts of your family experience.

You can:

  • invite family members
  • create and manage child profiles
  • decide who can access the family pond
  • restrict access to selected areas of the world
  • review weekly family progress
  • suspend or remove a member
  • manage richer interaction features
  • decide when videochat can be available
  • close or delete the family pond when needed

YOBY is designed to give children freedom inside clear boundaries.

Invite-only access

Children cannot be contacted by strangers through YOBY.

Every family pond is based on invitation. You decide who belongs there. If someone is not invited, they cannot enter.

This keeps the experience small, trusted and family-led.

A good pond does not need a thousand doors.

Weekly family recap

YOBY does not overwhelm parents with dashboards, graphs and blinking control panels.

Instead, the family recap helps you understand what happened in the pond: quests completed, progress made, choices explored and moments worth discussing together.

Not surveillance.
A conversation starter.

Because the real goal is not to watch every click.
The real goal is to help families talk about money naturally.

Area restrictions

YOBY is a world with different places, characters and activities.

Some areas may be more suitable for older children. Some activities may require more supervision. Some features may be better introduced gradually.

Parental controls can help you decide which parts of the world your children can access.

Start small.
Open new paths when your family is ready.

Videochat only with adult presence

YOBY is built around a simple rule:

No parent present. No videochat.

When a parent or authorised adult is not present in the pond, videochat is not available to the child.

It is not hidden in a menu.
It is not waiting behind a confusing button.
It simply is not there.

Small rule. Big safety net.

Designed for children, not adapted later

YOBY is built for minors from the first line of code.

That means parental control is not an afterthought. It is part of the product architecture, together with invite-only access, child-safe interaction design, content filtering and privacy-first choices.

We do not start from an adult product and shrink it with a colourful hat.

YOBY begins with the family.

Parent-led learning

YOBY helps children learn about money through quests, choices, mentor characters and symbolic rewards.

But financial education works better when it becomes a family conversation.

Parents can use YOBY to talk about:

Saving
What are we saving for? What happens if we wait?

Choices
What did you choose? Why? What would you do differently?

Value
Is something worth it just because it is shiny?

Goals
How do small steps become something bigger?

Hidden costs
What does the Mole know that the price tag forgot to say?

YOBY gives children the adventure. Parents help turn it into meaning.

Controls without killing the magic

Good parental control should not make children feel trapped.

It should make the world feel safer, clearer and more appropriate.

YOBY aims for controls that are:

  • understandable
  • visible to parents
  • gentle for children
  • strict where safety matters
  • flexible as children grow
  • designed around trust, not fear

The best gate is the one that lets the garden stay a garden.

For families and schools

Parental controls are designed mainly for family ponds, but the same principles guide school and partner experiences.

In supervised educational settings, access can be structured around classes, activities, age groups and guided learning paths.

Whether YOBY is used at home or in school, children should explore inside spaces that adults understand and can manage.

Privacy and control

Your family data belongs to your family.

YOBY does not sell family data.
YOBY does not use advertising inside the child-facing game experience.
YOBY is designed with GDPR-first principles.
Parents can request deletion of family data.

Control is not only about buttons and settings.
It is also about knowing that the product is not quietly turning your family pond into a data fountain.

A safer way to let children explore

Children need room to try, choose, make mistakes and grow.

Parents need tools to keep that room safe.

YOBY brings those two needs together: a playful world for children, with clear controls for the adults who care for them.
