Schools

A safe, playful financial education world for schools that helps children learn saving, choices, value and money habits through quests, characters and family conversations.

Schools

Financial education kids can actually experience.

YOBY helps schools introduce money, choices and financial habits through play.

Not another worksheet.
Not another lecture.
A safe digital world where children explore ponds, meet mentor characters, complete quests and learn how money works through small, visible decisions.

Why schools need a new way to teach money

Financial education is becoming part of school life. But teaching money is not easy.

Children do not learn healthy financial habits by memorising definitions. They learn by choosing, waiting, saving, comparing, trading, making mistakes and talking about what happened.

That is what YOBY is built for.

In YOBY, financial concepts become small adventures: a goal to reach, a price to compare, a shiny thing to resist, a hidden cost to discover, a market negotiation to try.

The lesson does not sit on the desk.
It walks into the pond wearing little duck feet. 🦆

A playful world for serious skills

YOBY turns financial literacy into an age-appropriate learning experience.

Students can explore ideas such as:

Saving and goals
Why we save, how small steps add up, and how a goal becomes easier when you can see it.

Choice and patience
What happens when you buy now, wait, compare or change your mind.

Value and price
Why things cost what they cost, and why the cheapest option is not always the best one.

Hidden costs
Subscriptions, maintenance, upgrades, waste and all the little underground tunnels where money quietly disappears.

Negotiation and exchange
At Tuesday’s market with Loris, children learn that prices are not magic numbers carved into stone.

Shared responsibility
Money stops being a taboo subject and becomes a conversation between students, teachers and families.

How YOBY works in class

YOBY for Schools can be used as a guided learning programme for primary and lower secondary school.

A typical activity can include:

1. Explore

Students enter a safe YOBY environment and meet a mentor character.

The Frog may talk about goals.
The Magpie may tempt them with shiny choices.
The Mole may reveal hidden costs underground.

2. Choose

Students complete short quests based on realistic situations.

There is no shame, no score attack, no “you failed” thundercloud. There is a choice, a consequence and a chance to understand what happened.

3. Discuss

The class compares different decisions.

Why did someone save?
Why did someone spend?
What felt difficult?
What would change next time?

4. Take it home

Children can bring the conversation back to their family pond.

The bridge between classroom and home is where the magic gets its boots muddy.

Built for different ages

Ages 6 to 8

First choices, waiting, simple goals, wants and needs, symbolic rewards.

Ages 9 to 11

Saving paths, comparison, value, small budgets, trading, collecting and planning.

Ages 12 to 14

Hidden costs, recurring expenses, digital purchases, subscriptions, negotiation, longer-term goals.

YOBY is not designed to turn children into miniature bankers.
It is designed to help them become more aware, more patient and more confident when money enters the room.

For teachers

YOBY is designed to support teachers, not add another mountain to the backpack.

You do not need to be a finance expert.
You do not need to build a course from scratch.
You do not need to turn your classroom into a stock exchange with chalk dust.

YOBY provides a playful structure for introducing financial concepts through guided activities, character-based quests and discussion prompts.

Teachers can use YOBY for:

  • financial education activities
  • civic education projects
  • digital citizenship lessons
  • family engagement initiatives
  • school innovation programmes
  • workshops and special learning weeks

Safe by design

YOBY is built for children from the first line of code.

That means:

  • invite-only access
  • no contact from strangers
  • no advertising
  • parental and teacher supervision
  • age-appropriate interactions
  • automatic content filtering
  • GDPR-first design
  • no open social network mechanics

Safety is not a sticker on the box.
It is the box.

School pilots

We are opening selected school pilots for teachers, schools and educational partners who want to explore a new way to teach financial literacy.

A pilot can include:

  • one or more classes
  • a guided 4-week learning path
  • age-appropriate quests
  • teacher materials
  • family take-home moments
  • feedback from students, teachers and parents
  • a final learning and engagement report

The goal is simple: understand how children learn financial habits when the lesson becomes a world.

For schools, foundations and educational partners

YOBY can work with:

  • primary schools
  • lower secondary schools
  • educational foundations
  • municipalities
  • museums and learning centres
  • banks with school programmes
  • publishers and edtech partners

Together, we can build financial education that feels less like homework and more like discovery.

Let’s bring better money habits to school.
